The love of wallpaper!!

I am obsessed with wallpaper! Many homeowners do not use it, but I love it! I think it is a great way to dress up a bathroom, and add some color! This is not the cheapest route to go if trying to save money in your new home, however I knew this is something I really wanted to spend our budget on.

We shopped around a lot with installers because they will get you with the price and installment of size of room and per roll. My uncle is in the furniture business so I was able to get my wallpaper wholesale from Dixie Textiles. Talk about an overwhelming experience is picking out wallpaper!!!! I am pretty obsessed with the final product!!

living room

Designing the living room was a big deal to me. I was so nervous because my main color was from my drapes that I sewed! I tend to be colorful, and for the sake of my husband I tried my best to keep the colors neutral with small pops of color in accent pillows, drapes, etc...

I purchased the couches years ago, the vintage train cart was from Home Goods, rug ikea, entertainment piece-ikea, lamp-z-gallerie, pillows-pottery barn/home goods/target.

I was so worried with the wall colors, but once we got the drapes up I really love how the room turned out!

bedroom

These night stands were my parents that they had for over 20+ years, and I knew they would be perfect in our bedroom so I redid these, and found this dresser at a thrift store. I started to sanded, more sanding...painted and added knobs! This took me about a week to finish everything and a couple coats of paint!

The key to getting a slick finished piece is using a spray gun. I have not used spray paint on these pieces. The spray gun makes it very easy to paint any type of furniture and different woods.

Dresser-$50
Knobs-$2.50 each

Nightstand-free
knobs-$2.50 each
paint-$100 but I used this on 7 pieces of furniture.

Studded shoes

I had some pretty ugly pumps that I was going to give away, but figured I could make them look different from some pinterest ideas!

This took me about 25 minutes, used some fabric glue and got some studs from Jo Anns, and a bow!

DIY Shoes

I got these really cute kate Spade shoes, but they are very uncomfortable and it gave me the idea of making some Old Navy wedges I got on sale for $12. They were very blah so I gave them a lift! :)

Barnwood Sign

I pinned this a while back and absolutely loved it since we do have such a great "meant to be story" our story I knew I could make it a lot cheaper than what I have seen some sold for!

I found some 2x4 in the garage, stained it, sanded, stained again, and beat the crap out of the wood! I ended up ordering vinyl since I hate my handwriting and was very inexpensive to order, plus this lady is awesome!! I have ordered a few mongram items, gifts, etc and she is so quick and easy to work with!! http://www.etsy.com/shop/glassden

size: 30x30

total cost: $15

Can't wait to hang this in our home!!

Louis "French" Chair

I loved cheetah french chairs and really really wanted one for my desk, make up area...We had a huge warehouse 10,000+ where my family has always upholstered and my uncle actually had this chair in the back, man do I wish I had a picture of it before! It was so ugly and was just wood (like picture, so it came a long way!!)

My uncle gave me the chair for free, and I used fabrics leftover from some of his jobs, so only had to pay for the spray paint of $8 !! Not bad for a pretty cool chair!!

I am planning on changing out the hot pink seat to all cheetah over the off season..

Total Cost: $8 !!

Ottoman

This is one of my all time favorite pieces I have done!! I wanted something so girly (before I took Jake into consideration) NO PINK DOWNSTAIRS in our new place.. haha

I ended up buying the store model of a ottoman at Pottery Barn that was just dirty, and nothing too special for a steal, and ended up reupholstering it, and painting the legs! I have brought this with us for the season to make our place feel more like home, and I must say ALL the boys love it (no lie)

home #3

This took about 8 hours to reupholster, the removing of fabric and getting all the staples out was definitly time consuming and painful!

I can't remember cost of this, but priceless to me!! :) If I have a girl one day will be perfect in the nursery, or my dressing room!

Z Gallerie Cuddler Chair

This was a project I did a while back when moving into my new place in college! I wanted something that was really comfortable and different than just your typical love seat. Z Gallerie is one of my favorite furniture stores, but wasn't willing to pay $900 for a blah chair so my dad said " We can build that!" Sure enough he just sat in it and measured on his body how deep we wanted it, and built it from scratch!!

At the time I was really into zebra, and black but I did it so the cushion are reversible to all black and can change out the pillows when I want. This will be going into our den and will be perfect for kiddies I won't have a heart attack if something happens to it! This is such a comfortable chair, one of Jake's favorites! He used to sleep on it all the time!!

Took about 15-20 hours to build, but the memories are forever with my dad!

Barstools

I really wanted something fun and different for our kitchen barstools, first I didn't have a lot of money to spend, and secondly I couldn't find anything I liked.

I went to pick up patio furniture and they were moving so said if saw anything else make them an offer, I got all 3 barstools for $30! I was excited about them because I had just purchased two barstools (exact ones for $60 from Walmart) agh --RETURNED!

A little sanding, spray paint, sanding, paint, seat cushion, and upholstered!

I used foam leftover from another project, and got some fun fabric! I am so excited for these in our new place!
